Manchester United legend Paddy Crerand praises Manchester United’s decision to bring in Marouane Fellaini. The former United midfielder Crerand has hailed the arrival of Marouane Fellaini at Old Trafford as the Red Devils’ answer to Manchester City‘s Yaya Touré.

Fellaini, who is 6ft 4ins, has developed a reputation as a hard-tackling but goal-scoring midfielder during his five seasons at the Toffees and the former United midfielder Crerand believes Fellaini can emulate club legends Roy Keane and Bryan Robson.

“I’m delighted United have signed Marouane Fellaini and I think most fans should be too, because the one thing we’ve lacked at Manchester United in the middle of the park is somebody powerful and strong,” he told MUTV.

He said: “I wouldn’t want [Manchester City’s Yaya] Toure playing against me, a big powerful guy, hard to compete with. We’ve got one of our own now.”

“Down the years, we’ve had some magnificent players in midfield, like Roy Keane and Bryan Robson. And now, with Fellaini, we’ve got much more power and strength than we had last year, so I think he’s a big asset.”

Taking a look at these stats, one can’t blame the Manchester United legend for drawing up this comparison. Fellaini clearly did better than Yaya Touré, at least statistically.
