Belgium and Manchester United midfielder Maroune Fellaini has said that if his country were to win the World Cup he will cut off his trademark afro.
Fellaini has become synonymous with his distinctive haircut since his arrival to English football in 2008.
Speaking to Belgian outlet Sporza Fellaini said: “If we win the World Cup, I cut my hair off. Am I sure? Yes, absolutely. We have a deal.”
Fellaini played for Everton until last summer when he left to link up with former manager David Moyes at Manchester United.
However like his manager Fellaini’s time at Old Trafford has been fraught with difficulty. He failed to make an impact with the club and he hasn’t showed the fans that he is of the necessary calibre to play for a club like Manchester United.
At the moment he remains with the club but he could be allowed to leave by new manager Louis Van Gaal if he doesn’t think Fellaini is up to the required standard.
Fellaini kick started Belgium’s World Cup campaign by coming off the bench to score the equaliser in Belgium 2-1 victory over Algeria.
