Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel’s agent has revealed that his client will not leave the Merseysiders at the end of the season, report FourFourTwo.

The 29-year-old has become a central figure in the Reds’ defence this season and has not missed a Premier League fixture since September.

Although Brendan Rodgers’ side are currently top of the table, the northern Irishman’s defence have been criticised for conceding too many goals.

Meanwhile, reports have linked the Slovakian with a move to Serie A side Napoli in order to link up with former Kop boss Rafael Benitez.

But the player’s agent, Karol Csonto, has now quashed any exit talk by declaring Skrtel will stay at Anfield.

“There is no chance of Skrtel going to Napoli. His relationship with Rafa Benitez? There is nothing to add about this.

“What I can say is that Martin Skrtel will not go to Napoli. Skrtel will remain at Liverpool,” he insisted.

With the Merseysiders closing in on a debut Premier League title it is crucial they remain focused and ignore any speculation concerning any member of their first team squad if they are to succeed.

Martin Skrtel has made 355 clearances for Liverpool this season, the highest total of any Premier League player.
