Sokratis snubbed Manchester United for a move to Arsenal

Charalambos Papastathopoulos, Sokratis' father has revealed that the Borussia Dortmund defender is currently in London to sign for the Gunners and that his son rejected Manchester United's advances for a move to the Emirates.

He told Sport 24/7, "There was interest from United but he had to wait until July for them. United have a very good relationship with Dortmund, the teams talked but Sokratis chose to go to Arsenal."

Real Madrid want Robert Lewandowski

After Zinedine Zidane's departure, Real Madrid have taken a decision to dump his favourite, Karim Benzema. The club are open to offers for the French striker. Don Balon has claimed that club supremo Florentino Perez has decided to pursue a move for Robert Lewandowski as his replacement.

Lewandowski is on the hunt for a move away from Bayern Munich and has hired Pini Zahavi - the man who helped Neymar leave FC Barcelona - to get his desired move. Real Madrid believe a bid of €80 million would be enough to tempt the Bavarians into selling the 30-year-old.
