The transfer window shuts in just over 24 hours.
It is unlikely that Chelsea will buy anyone but I would not be surprised if we find a few of our players subject to a few last minute bids.
One of the players that is most at risk from a club testing the water is Juan Mata.
With the arrival of Willian, there has been some speculation that he may be surplus to requirements and despite him featuring only briefly so far this season, I hope this is just the media trying to create a story and our rivals dreaming of a talent they can’t have.
There has so far been nothing but statements from the club that they want our two-time player of the year to stay and as a fan of the club I am desperate for one of my favourite players to be a key part of what I hope will be a successful season.
He has been at the heart of all that has been good at the club in the last two seasons and whilst we have strengthened, he is one of the top footballers in the world and should not be discarded lightly.
With the club unlikely to sell and with no substantiated interest, I am not worried and confident that Juan Mata will be a key player for Chelsea this season.
