Arsene Wenger’s faith in his youth players finally played off last night when Arsenal beat West Bromich Albion 4-3 on penalties. Serge Gnabry scored a second half goal for the Gunners, giving them the lead, but West Brom’s Saido Berahino pulled one back for the hosts.
The penalty shoot-out saw Gnabry miss his shot, but Dawson and Amalfitano missed West Brom’s last two penalties, thus making Arsenal qualify for the fourth round of the Capital One Cup. Here are the highlights of the game:
