Matthias Ginter has opened the door for a potential move to Manchester United after claiming that he is flattered to be linked with the Red Devils.
David Moyes was seen in the crowd in Freiburg’s clash with Hertha Berlin on Friday with Ginter believed to be the focus of his attentions as he searches for new centre-backs to fill the void expected to be left by Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand this summer.
Ginter is expected to be sold in the summer with Freiburg struggling in the Bundesliga and it is expected he will mov on to bigger and better things than the Bundesliga strugglers.
United’s interest is one of many and the young defender has admitted that a switch to Old Trafford would interest him should any offer arise, but won’t get himself too excited about it until it happens.
He told reporters, “If it is true, I am of course honoured and excited.
“On the other hand, there is still a long way to the summer.”
Arsenal are also said to be looking at the 20-year-old, while German giants Bayern Munich are also said to be keen on recruiting him over the summer months.
