Matthijs de Ligt transfer saga is dragging on and on

The footballing fraternity will have to wait more for a couple of days to know where Matthijs de Ligt ends up this summer. The Dutch defender is the hottest young property in Europe at the moment and is being chased by the likes of Manchester United, Barcelona, Liverpool and Paris Saint Germain.

De Ligt was rumoured to be close to an Old Trafford switch and his recent social media activities have sent the Man United supporters into a frenzy yet again. The 19-year-old recently liked Diogo Dalot's Instagram post wherein the Portuguese appeared to be celebrating his one-year anniversary at the club.

The Ajax skipper resorted to a similar activity last month when he liked Rio Ferdinand's post commemorating United's 2008 Champions League victory. However, de Ligt recently also confirmed that he is yet to decide on his future.

When asked about his future following The Netherlands' semi-final victory over England, he said,

"Obviously the Premier League is a great competition, but I haven’t made up my mind yet,"

"I’m still looking at what to do. For me, the most important thing is to play. I think today showed what experience can do. Now I’m focusing on the next game against Portugal, that’s the most important thing."
