Matthijs de Ligt's transfer saga has escalated to new bars of excitement after Diego Martinez revealed news that might make Manchester United fans happy.

According to the Mundo Deportivo and Marca journalist, the Dutchman has already agreed a move to Old Trafford and the move will be made official after the international games in June.

The Old Trafford faithful will be more thrilled to know that Diego Martinez is the same man who first broke the news of Alexis Sanchez's move to United a week before it was announced.

De Ligt is one of the most exciting young prospects in modern football and is being viewed as a long-term solution by United to their defensive woes. Barcelona are also said to be in the race to sign the Dutch international, but the de Ligt seems closer to agreeing a move Old Trafford.
