The veteran of the game scored two goals against Valencia while playing for Barcelona in a La Liga match. He scored his first goal in the 39th minute of the match and made the score 1-2 for his team Barcelona. In the second half, Messi again showed his magical touch and scored another goal in the 64th minute of the match through a penalty.
The match ended in a 2-2 draw. The two goals for Valencia came from Kevin Gameiro and Daniel Parejo in the 24th and 32nd minute of the match respectively.
In the tournament, Barcelona is at the top of the table with 50 points. Barcelona's next match of the league is against the strong Real Madrid side on Wednesday but, there are fewer chances of Messi playing as he has an injury.
Spanish football club Barcelona's chief coach Ernesto Valverde has said,
Messi is not sure to play in the Copa del Rey match against Real Madrid.
"We are going to do some tests to find out the severity of his injury, we hope he will recover quickly. However, if he is fit, then we will definitely play him otherwise, we will play someone else in his place."
