Messi still not human even after penalty miss, says Luis Enrique

Messi scored a brace in his side 4-1 victory over Levante

Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has nothing but praise for his star player Lionel Messi despite missing a penalty and has said he is in a league of his won, according to Goal.

The Argentine missed a penalty in his side’s 4-1 win over Levante at Nou Camp this weekend but that didn't prove to be fatal as he set up the opener for Marc Batra and went on to make it 3-0 for the Blaugrana side from the spot after Neymar’ s strike before netting another goal in the dying minutes of the game with one of his spectacular solo runs.

And Enrique has nothing but praise for his ace man who once again proved to be decisive for his side.

"The fact that he missed a penalty does not make Messi any more human," Enrique stated at a press conference

"Messi still scored twice and set up another goal. He does not really seem human to me."

Ter Stegen is soaring with confidence despite some blips

The Barcelona manager has defended the bullets shot at his goalkeeper’s direction as he was once again at fault for Levante’s goal after conceding the 55-yard wondergoal by Florenzi in the 1-1 Champions League draw against Roma on Wednesday.

The Spanish tactician, however, is sticking his decision to back the Germany international and believes he is still soaring with confidence despite the blips.

"Another goalkeeper might start having doubts about himself after such a moment," the Barcelona coach added

"Not Ter Stegen, though. Confidence is flowing through his body at all times."

Enrique hands opportunity for youngsters to shine

Following their midweek Champions League match against Roma at the Olimpico Stadium, Enrique decided to give some of his first team players like Luis Suarez and Andres Iniesta some rest as they were replaced by Munir and Sandro who got the opportunity to prove their worth.

The youngsters took full advantage of the chance given to them as they repaid their manager’s trust by giving out a good performance on the pitch.

"I am pleased with the performance of Munir and Sandro," he said

"They are important players for the future. They are still young and will get plenty of playing time. We need them and they will help the team forward."

With 12 points from their first four games, Barcelona play Celta Vigo away next in the midweek fixture on Wednesday as they look to maintain their perfect start to the new season.
