Mesut Ozil has lavished praise upon his Arsenal teammate Tomas Rosicky, believing he should be considered one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.
Rosicky has enjoyed a fine season for the Gunners, having managed to stay fit for the campaign after years of a series of niggling injuries.
The Czech Republic international has built a fine understanding with his German colleague, and Ozil has been thrilled by the relationship he has had with Rosicky, claiming his talents put him in the top bracket of midfielders in England.
He told Arsenal Player, “The feeling is mutual because we are similar types of player.
“We’re strong when we’re on the ball, we play quickly and I have lots of fun playing alongside the team.
“In my opinion, Tomas belongs to the best midfielders in the Premier League.
“When you see how much he gives for the team and how he enjoys being on the ball, it makes us happy to have a player like that in our ranks.”
Rosicky may be ruled out of Arsenal’s game with Fulham, but has enjoyed a season of good fitness, having suffered an injury-hit spell at the Emirates since transferring from Borussia Dortmund in 2006.
Perhaps Arsene Wenger doesn’t see things the same as Ozil, as six of Rosicky’s 13 appearances have come from the bench, while he is yet to score in the league and has just one assist to his name. Not quite the sort of output one would expect from one of the best midfielders in the league.
