David Beckham,after much speculation confirmed the formation of the MLS franchisee based in Miami,Florida.Post retirement,football pundits all over the world predicted a gradual downfall of “Brand Beckham” all over the world,but with the launch of the Miami franchisee,Brand Beckham will certainly be rejuvenated. He exercised this option which was made available to him when he signed for Los Angeles Galaxy; the MLS commissioner Don Garber then mentioned the transfer as a measure to uplift the status and profile of the game across the States.

With Beckham nearly setting the trend for European players to play on the other side of the Atlantic after crossing 30, the MLS has always shown their gratitude towards him in every manner possible. “There’s going to be a few bumps along the way, but we’re going to make the team in Miami not just the best team in America, we’re going to take the team global,” Beckham told a reception for city leaders at Miami.

From being the ambassador of the Chinese football league to being the first world-class player to play in the States,he has presented his passion for the sport in front of the world time to time and fans all over the world has always appreciated it. As Beckham confirmed the news on Wednesday morning at Miami’s new bay front art museum, he exercises his $25 million option in his MLS contract to start a new franchise. The launch of this team though could still be months away as sources close to the negotiations confirm that the approval of the proposed 25,000-seat stadium and the financing is a time consuming affair.
