Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup has admitted that there is never a good time to play Manchester United, whom they host in their EPL opener.

Manchester United may have had a tough pre-season and adapting under new manager David Moyes may take time, but the Swansea manager feels playing Manchester United is always a tough job.

As reported by BBC, Laudrup said: “It’s never the right moment to play Man United because there is always quality.”

And he added: “I could sit here and say it’s the best moment you can play Man United or top team like that and we lose 3-0 on Saturday.

“But [having] said that we know we have to play them, so I think in the beginning is not a bad moment.”

Manchester United have had a tough summer transfer window overshadowed by the Wayne Rooney saga and also a tough pre season, and Swansea have been better, having beaten Malmo 4-0 on aggregate in their opening Europa League match, but the 45 year old feels that whoever David Moyes picks for Saturday’s clash, it will be difficult for The Jacks.

“I don’t want to go into that [the Wayne Rooney debate] because it’s not my problem,” added Laudrup.

“It’s not my club – I’m not the manager there.

“Whatever they do they will still be a very, very strong squad.

“I have to expect anything – I don’t know if Rooney is playing. I don’t know if Carrick or Young are fit.”

The manager, who signed Ivory Coast striker Wilfried Bony for a club record £12 million in July, wants to sign another striker before the window closes.
