About five thousand spectators were present at the Kalyani Stadium and were screaming their heart out and supporting their favourite club. After a hiatus of 3 months, Tolgay Ozbey was finally able to play the entire 90 minutes of the match and also managed to scored a goal. After a rest of 26 days, Syed Rahim Nabi also showed up for this match but only as a spectator.
Other than Tolgay, the other goal scorers in the match were Nirmal Chhetri, Stanley and Rakesh Masih. The final scoreline might depict that Police SC were mere spectators in the game but Sishir Ghosh’s men did put up a valiant show. Police SC created numerous opportunity but wasn’t able to convert them into goals.
Mohun Bagan’s Moroccan think-tank, Karim Bencharifa, was quite happy about how his boys played and said that his team is all set for the I-League match on 29th December. When asked about the final decision that will be out on Thursday Karim said,“I’m not worried about the verdict. Its totally a matter of the club.” But his expressions said something else while he was giving the statement.
While Rahim Nabi admitted the fact that after the 4 goal triumph against Police SC all the players in the club will be eagerly waiting for the verdict on Thursday. ” I am sure that all the players are feeling the same restlessness and the fear like me about what’s going to happen tomorrow,“said Rahim Nabi.
