Having captured the likes of Joao Moutinho and James Rodriguez of FC Porto and Radamel Falcao of Atletico Madrid for around to £120million in total, AS Monaco’s summer spending spree is showing no signs of abating as the latest name to be linked to the principality is Newcastle’s Yohan Cabaye.
Reports of a £20 million summer bid for the midfielder who has been an important cog in the wheel for Newcastle over the last two seasons have emerged.
Paris St Germain who along with Monaco are expected to contest the French Ligue1 title have also been rumored with an interest in Newcastle schemer.
Newcastle United, however are not under any financial obligation to sell anyone, let alone their star midfielder and it would take a lot more than the rumored £20 million to prize Cabaye away from Tyne side who is under contract till the summer of 2016.
Both Monaco and PSG have previously been linked with a move for Newcastle winger Hatem Ben Arfa as well.
