Montpellier take on Nice in a Ligue 1 game at the Stade de la Mosson this Sunday. Montpellier are still propping up the Ligue 1 table and with 14 matches now gone, they look in real danger of dropping into Ligue 2.

Nice, meanwhile, are up in sixth place and are hoping to qualify for Europe again.

So, can Montpellier spring an upset of sorts this weekend or will they suffer another defeat?

Nice have largely been dominant over Montpellier in recent games, winning four of their last six meetings across all competitions. However, Montpellier did win their last game against Nice, beating them 1-2 at the Allianz Riviera.
After doing well to secure a 2-2 draw against high-flyers Lille in the first weekend of December, Montpellier suffered yet another defeat last weekend. They fell at the hands of Lens and failed to score a goal, too.
Nice's last league game saw them bounce back from a loss to Lyon by beating Le Havre. However, they then suffered a bad defeat at the hands of Belgium's Union Saint-Gilloise in Europa League action on Thursday. This loss has left them with a record of no wins, two draws and four defeats in Europe this season.
While Montpellier's defensive record is alarming - they have conceded 36 goals thus far this season - their offensive record is not much better. They have failed to find the net in five of their last seven Ligue 1 matches.
In contrast, Nice have scored 26 goals thus far, a total bettered by only two other Ligue 1 sides, leaders Paris St. Germain and second-place Marseille.

Despite Nice going through an injury crisis of sorts, with potentially 10 players out for this game, they ought to have enough to get through with a win.

Montpellier's form has been putrid throughout the campaign, and their loss to Lens last weekend suggested that their draw with Lille was no turning point.

Nice's European record has been poor this season, but they haven't shown much of a hangover in league action, and have enough potency in front of goal as well as a tight enough defense to win here.

The prediction, then, is an away win.
