Ousmane Dembele is a 21-year-old left winger who plays for Barcelona in La Liga. He has also featured for France 21 times since making his debut in September 2016, and even won the FIFA World Cup with them in the summer.
Scouted by Borussia Dortmund, they signed Dembele from Stade Rennais in the summer of 2016 for around £13.5m. His talent was then showcased on a global stage and many heads from top European clubs had no choice but to turn and pay attention. Once the 2016/17 season had ended, a plethora of clubs were reportedly trying to sign the 20-year-old, but it would be Barcelona who ultimately trumped the rest.
The Catalans paid an initial 105m euros (£96.8m) for the France international, with additional bonuses that could see the final fee rise to around 147m euros (£135.5m), which made him the world's second most expensive player at the time.
Since joining Barcelona, Dembele has been impressive overall, despite a rocky start due to an injury that forced him out for several months.
