Cristiano Ronaldo is a 34-year-old left winger who plays for Juventus in Serie A. He has also featured 156 times for Portugal and is currently their captain.
Ever since he signed with Manchester United from Sporting Lisbon all the way back in 2003, Ronaldo was destined for greatness. His move to Real Madrid in the summer of 2009 for £80m set the record for a transfer fee at that time, before it was eclipsed by Gareth Bale four years on.
Ronaldo's switch to Juventus came suddenly, though, as he looked like he was set to stay at Madrid until he retired. But things clearly didn't pan out that way and once a deal worth around 112m euros (£99.2m) was offered to Madrid, they had no choice but to let the unsettled Ronaldo take his leave at last.
He said, "the time has come to open a new stage in my life, that's why I asked the club to accept transferring me."
Ronaldo did what many expected him to do at Juventus, and that's steady the ship. The Old Lady had suffered a few setbacks in the season prior to Ronaldo's arrival, but his goals and assists for the side this season have ensured that they're back in the driver's seat once more.
