Only eight teams, including Brazil, Germany, Italy, Uruguay, Argentina, France, England, and Spain, have won football's premier competition. Brazil has won five tournaments, taking first place in the matches in 1958, 1962, 1970, 1994, and 2002. Germany and Italy all have four titles, while Uruguay, Argentina, and France each have two, and England and Spain each have one. Brazil is the side with the most victories (70), followed by Germany (66), Italy (45), and Argentina (42), in that order.

Mexico has played 53 matches in the FIFA World Cup, 25 of which have ended in defeat. Mexico has lost 46.17% of their games played in the FIFA World Cup. This is not a record Mexico will be proud to have and the nation will be hoping they can get rid of this record in the World Cups to come.
