Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has expressed his concerns regarding the fitness of World Cup winner Andre Schurrle and the Brazilian trio of Oscar, Willian and Ramires ahead of their season opener against newly promoted Burnley.
Speaking to Chelsea TV after the 3-0 defeat against Werder Bremen in the pre-season friendly, Mourinho spoke about how his side was poor in the first half and also about Hazard’s return to the squad.
'It worries me because the boys (returning late from the World Cup) that start tomorrow don't have time to get ready for the start of Premier League. We cannot deny that our first half was poor. The reaction was good in the second half. Eden brought something to the game”, he said.
The four players have arrived back in London and will be joining the rest of the squad, but in what could be a situation similar to the one Arsenal are facing, Mourinho might find himself handicapped before the first game.
But with the talent at his disposal, the Chelsea boss should be looking to ease his stars slowly in to the scheme of things as the likes of Oscar looked off colour during the second half of the season prior to the World Cup. They play Hungarian side Ferencvaros next on the 10th of August.
