Moyes: Arsenal beat to signature of rampant Ramsey

David Moyes has claimed that he almost signed Aaron Ramsey when he was in charge of Everton only for Sunday’s opponents to beat him to his signature.

“Yes, I was very close to signing Aaron when I was at Everton. I had him and his family in my house but Arsenal beat me to it.”

Ramsey has started the season in scintillating fashion and Moyes puts this down to the 22-year old feeling confident about his role in the team.

“He has played really well,” said Moyes.”He now sees himself as one of their really important players and has not let them down with the goals he has scored.”

The Manchester United manager will be hoping that the Welsh midfielder is having an off day when his side host the Gunners tomorrow, with the Red Devils looking to close the gap on their fierce rivals to 5 points.

Even if they manage to keep Ramsey quiet, though, Arsenal have plenty of other players currently enjoying a rich vein of form and tomorrow could see the North London club pick up all 3 points at Old Trafford for the first time in 7 years.
