Mumbai Sep 21 (IANS) Indian Super League (ISL) football franchise Mumbai City FC returned to the country for their final tournament preparations buoyant after being unbeaten in their pre-season tour to Dubai.
Mumbai City FC won against two United Arab Emirates clubs Al Ahli and Dubai Cultural Sports Club and drew against Al Wasl and Al Arabi in four friendly matches, which boosted the team's morale.
Commenting on the spirit of Mumbai City FC, head coach Alexandre Guimaraes said in a release, "The team is returning to Mumbai unbeaten, which is a very good thing. We played some tough opponents, in really hot conditions, and the boys pulled through when needed."
Indranil Das Blah, CEO of Mumbai City FC added, "We are heading into the season a lot more prepared than in the past. The team has looked really good in the pre-season and Alexandre is doing some great stuff with the boys."
"We can see everyone put in that extra yard during practice, helping each other out, and there is a great unity within the team. We hope to carry the unbeaten pre-season spirit into the season and provide the fans with a successful ISL."
Mumbai City FC play away against FC Pune City in their first ISL match on October 3.
