Myanmar host Indonesia at the Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon on Monday for their opening game of the 2024 ASEAN Championship in Group B. The sides have been drawn alongside Vietnam, the Philippines and Laos.
Ranked 167th in the world, the Burmese Lions are set to make their 15th appearance in the competition. But, having endured a tough run in 2024, they are seen as outsiders.
In eight official games this year, Myo Hlaing Win's side have won just once: a 2-0 win over Sri Lanka in a friendly back in October, while losing five times, including a staggering 7-0 shellacking at the hands of Syria.
