Real Madrid defender Nacho has taken a swipe at Barcelona’s Gerard Pique saying that Los Blancos will shut the defender up by winning the Champions League finals against Atletico Madrid. Pique has never been shy of angering Madrid fans and players and Nacho blasted his fellow Spaniard.
Speaking to AS, Nacho said:
"Piqué loves to talk, he loves the sound of his own voice, we all know that, he always talks about how much he enjoys the rivalry between Madrid and Barça, and is always trying to rile the madridistas, but I don't want to get involved in all that. I don't know why he's going on about titles when on May 28 it's us who'll be playing for the most important title of the season. We're focused on our job, the best way to shut him up will be to win the final".
He was also asked about Pique mocking Cristiano Ronaldo in the La Liga title celebrations.
"The questions are always about Pique, because he's always trying to needle Madrid and provoke a reaction. We're calm, let them do what they want up there, we're just focused on winning the Champions league".
The Spaniard also spoke about Zidane's impact as a coach and whether he should stay.
“His numbers have been very good since he's come in, I can't say if he should continue or not, because that's not my decision, but of course, he's been brilliant".
Isco feels Real Madrid will have a tough time against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League finals
Real Madrid midfielder Isco Alarcon has said that the Champions League final against cross-town football rivals Atletico Madrid at San Siro Stadium in Milan on May 28 "is going to be a difficult battle".
"It's going to be a difficult battle... Atletico are tough, they know how to read the game well, especially against teams who take the initiative. They've knocked out Barcelona and Bayern," Isco said according to Real Madrid's website on Tuesday.
As for being called up for Spain's provisional Euro 2016 squad, Isco said: "I found out in the changing room when I saw my mobile and I'm very happy and proud to be on the list."
Isco added he was surprised at the inclusion of his team-mate Lucas Vazquez in the La Roja squad, reports Efe.
"He got a little ovation because he wasn't expecting it, but he's shown with his hard work that he deserves to be on the list," the 24-year-old said of Vazquez.
"He's really happy and proud because it's something that he's achieved with his work. We're really happy for him."
