Sources report that Manchester United have offered Nani a take-it-or-leave-it deal, and might be forced to sell the Portuguese should he turn down the four year extension deal.
Nani’s current deal with United expires at the end of next season and the club will not want to lose him on a free transfer. Nani will be sold during the summer transfer, if he does agree to the deal offered to him.
It is understood that the Portuguese has spoken to the clubs’ officials regarding a £130,000 a-week deal. But despite his efforts, the club has not agreed to budge from their current £90,000 a-week offer.
The situation at Old Trafford has Real Madrid on high alert. The Galacticos are now keeping a close eye on how the contract situation turns out. Jose Mourinho will want to sign the Portuguese so that he can be part of the rebuilding plan at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Sir Alex Ferguson acquired the Portuguese winger from Sporting Lisbon for £14million. Although Nani was regular part of the squad for sometime, his fitness and the arrival of Robin Van Persie and Danny Welback have been the main problems for Nani’s restricted playing time.
Manchester United recently acquired Wilfred Zaha from Crystal Palace to take charge of the wide role, but the United boss will be hesitant to let go of Nani. Although, if things do not go well, then Sir Alex will have no choice but to let go of Nani.
