Manchester United’s new summer arrival Eric Bailly had made an exceptional start to his United career and clinched three Man of the Match awards in four of his first competitive matches.
Manchester United legend Nemanja Vidic has praised the 22-year-old and said that he is glad Bailly is compared with him.
Bailly has adapted to his new life rather quickly compared to the other summer signings.
Glad to be compared with Bailly: Vidic
Vidic spoke to Saturday’s edition of United Review and spoke about Bailly and pundits comparing Bailly with Vidic, “It’s nice to hear and, from what I’ve seen, he is a very good player,”
The former United player also thinks that if the young defender can continue the same way, he will have a notable career at Old Trafford. “If he keeps going as he is, he will definitely have a great career at United,” he said.

“Of course, I’m glad that someone compares him to me and I hope he will be a player who does very well for us. He’s strong and composed with the ball. He’s a very confident player. He has a bit of everything. What I have seen in the first few matches is that we have a great player for the future and a player I would say we needed. He reads the game well. He already looks a big signing for us,” he added
Bailly has had an identical start to his Manchester United career with that of Nemanja Vidic. Bailly has conceded seven goals with two clean sheets, while Nemanja Vidic had conceded 8 goals with two clean sheets provided to the team. However, Vidic edges over Bailly with a greater win percentage.
Vidic praises Bailly’s confidence
Vidic has also praised Bailly adapting to the new life at Old Trafford. He also thinks that the young defender has already been a crowd favorite among the Manchester United faithful.
“I think he’s already popular with the fans. Of the signings we’ve had this year, I think he’s the one that has surprised everyone the most. He’s 22 years old and he went straight into the club and looks at home straight away. That’s outstanding for me.”

Vidic also thinks the amount of confidence the defender has shown is exceptional for someone his age. “He’s 22 and he has adapted straight away and showed some confidence which is important,” he added.
However, the former Manchester United player has also warned the new signing to keep calm. “The most important thing for a player of his age is to keep his feet on the ground,” Vidic said. “
“The first few matches he really performed well and had so many compliments from everyone, but it’s important to stay calm, keep doing what he was doing before and keep improving,” he further added.
