David Moyes has claimed that Nemanja Vidic is in line for a new deal at Manchester United following his impressive recent performances.
Vidic’s contract expires next summer and Moyes will be desperate to tie the towering defender down.
There have been reports in Serbia that suggested that Vidic was due for a new contract in the summer, however, no developments have been made on that front as Moyes admits that he is yet to speak to Ed Woodward, Executive Vice-Chairman, about the new deal.
Moyes, speaking to the media, claimed: “It is something I have not discussed with the chief executive yet but Vida’s form at the moment would suggest he is well worthy of that,”
“Probably his injuries have been the reason why you might have to look at it, so the big thing is to see how he goes.”
“But his form has been very good. We just need to hope he gets through and doesn’t pick up any more injuries.” Moyes added.
If Vidic signs a new contract, he will begin his eighth season at Old Trafford next term.
