Newcastle United are hoping to complete a deal for Racing Santander forward David Concha soon, after the youngster made the trip to Tyneside last month. The club are in advanced talks with Concha, who was shown around the training ground by Ayoze Perez and watched the Tyne-Wear derby with his parents during the visit.
Newcastle are looking to sign the 18-year-old in the winter transfer window, and could loan the youngster back to Racing for the remainder of the season.
Concha to follow Perez from Segunda to Newcastle
Concha can also play on the wing and has been impressive in the Segunda Division for Racing this season. Summer recruit Perez, who has made a decent impact since joining the club, also came from Spain’s second tier, signing from Tenerife.
Local reports suggest Newcastle have offered Concha a five-year deal, with the player returning to Spain to consider the proposals.
Concha has been an integral part of Racing’s team this season, starting 19 times for the club as they battle to stay in the division. He has scored three times and twice for the Spanish Under 19 side, both of those coming against Greece.
