London – English Premier League club Newcastle United confirmed that they have completed the signing of Senegalese striker Papiss Demba Cisse from German side Freiburg.
The striker penned a five-and-half-year deal worth 10 million euros, Xinhua reported.
“I would like to thank everybody for their warm greetings and for inviting me to sign for the club,” Cisse said. “It is an honour to play for such a big club and I am looking forward to it.”
The 26-year-old forward, who has scored nine Bundesliga goals this season, was handed Newcastle’s coveted number nine shirt earlier worn by club legend Alan Shearer.
