Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew has been named as Manager of the Month for November, with Manchester City's Sergio Aguero winning the Player of the Month award.
Sudden and miraculous change in Newcastle fortunes
Pardew has overseen a resurgence in his team's fortunes in recent weeks, and secured three league wins from four games in November. He nas now taken the his Newcastle side to the seventh place in the Barclays Premier eague.The 53-year-old had been the target of fan unrest earlier in the season as Newcastle struggled in the earlier games. But despite their struggles, Alan Pardew has now turned the tides and won three games in november including an inspirational home win against Chelsea which ended Chelsea's unbeaten start to the campaign with a 2-1 victory at St James' Park.He told Newcastle's official website: "It is a huge honour to be named Barclays Premier League Manager of the Month.“"Our recent form has been a real team effort, both on and off the pitch. The players have been fantastic during this time and huge credit must also go to my staff, who work tirelessly behind the scenes.”
City move back into the thick of the title race
The player of the month award went to Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero who was inspirational in taking Manchester City to second place and back in the Premier League title race. Manchester City are now just 3 points behind league leaders Chelsea.
The City striker Aguero, who is out injured for up to six weeks after limping off in the early stages of the home win over Everton, scored the derby winner against Manchester United -- one of three goals during the month also chalked up two assists to scoop up the monthly accolade.
The award is decided by members of the Barclays Panel - a group of former players, journalists and key football stakeholders.
