Andreas Christensen and Ronald Araujo could leave Barcelona in the January transfer window, as per Spanish outlet Fichajes.net. Barcelona are currently facing financial struggles, and the departure of both defenders could help the club.
Danish defender Christensen joined La Blaugrana in July 2022 on a free transfer from Chelsea. Since then, he has made 75 appearances, scoring three and assisting four goals across all competitions. However, he's on the sidelines due to Achilles tendon irritation and is expected to return to action in January.
According to a report in Todo Fichajes, Ruben Amorim's Manchester United are interested in signing the former Chelsea star. The Red Devils are considering a loan move for Christiansen next month, which could eventually become a €18 million permanent transfer.
However, Juventus are interested in signing both defenders as the replacement for Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal, who have sustained long-term injuries.
Unlike Andreas Christensen, signing Ronald Araujo won't be easy for any club. The Uruguayan's contract with La Blaugrana will expire in the summer of 2026 and as per reports, he's still a part of the club's plans.
Earlier this year, he underwent a tendon surgery in his right hamstring, which ruled him out for four months. Araujo returned to training in November but is yet to play a competitive game for the club since Hansi Flick became the new boss.
The La Liga giants are heavily linked with Bayer Leverkusen's Jonathan Tah for the central defensive role and he's expected to arrive in Catalonia next summer.
Barcelona remove Ligue 1 star from shortlist of successors of Robert Lewandowski: Reports
Barcelona have reportedly removed LOSC Lille forward Jonathan David from their list of potential replacements for star striker Robert Lewandowski, as per Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo.
The La Liga giants were considering Jonathan David, Viktor Gyokeres, Alexander Isak, and Erling Haaland as potential successors of the Polish attacker at Camp Nou. However, they're no longer interested in signing the Canadian forward because Hansi Flick thinks he's not suitable to fulfill the right profile for La Blaugrana.
Jonathan David joined LOSC Lille in the summer of 2021 for a reported transfer fee of €27 million from KAA Gent. Since joining Lille, he has played 209 matches across all competitions, scoring 101 goals and providing 23 assists.
In November, David revealed that he's a huge Barcelona fan and has supported the club since childhood. He said (via GOAL):
"(Barcelona) was always the team I grew up supporting. When you grow up supporting a club, it's a dream to play for them."
His contract with the Ligue 1 side will expire next summer. However, La Blaugrana are expected to focus on renewals and registrations amid financial struggles primarily.
