Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has been named The Best Men's Coach of the Year at the 2024 FIFA The Best Awards held in Doha, Qatar, on December 17. The Italian tactician had previously won the Best Men's Coach award at the Ballon d'Or ceremony on October 28.

Carlo Ancelotti joined Los Blancos for the second time in July 2021 and has already managed 196 games in his second stint as the club's manager. Overall, he has managed 315 games for Los Merengues and is second on the list for most games managed by a single coach at the club.

The Italian tactician helped Los Blancos secure the domestic double by winning La Liga and Supercopa de Espana in the 2023-24 season. They also defeated Borussia Dortmund at Wembley in the UEFA Champions League final to win their record-extending 15th CL title.

Ancelotti was selected from a group of nominees that included juggernauts like Xabi Alonso, Luis de la Fuente, Pep Guardiola, and Lionel Scaloni. The Italian coach topped with 26 points, followed by Xabi Alonso (22 points) and Luis de la Fuente (11 points).

Carlo Ancelotti received his FIFA The Best Men's Coach of the Year award from legendary ex-Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger. While giving the award to Ancelotti, Wenger jokingly said:

"What a surprise!"

Ancelotti, meanwhile, expressed his gratitude to everyone at the club, FIFA President Gianni Infantino, his family, and many others. He also called Real Madrid the best club in the world.

"A lot of players here [I coached]! I'm really honoured to receive this award. I'd like to thank FIFA and president Gianni Infantino. I want to share this with my club Real Madrid and president Florentino Perez to give me the opportunity to be the manager of the best club in the world. I have to share with my players that they sometimes listen to me!" he said.

Ancelotti continued:

"I have to pay thanks to my family - my wife Mariann who supports me with peace and love which is important for my job. I started in 1976, 48 years in football. Football has given me a lot of emotions, sometimes positive but sometimes negative. But emotion is the only reason that after 48 years I'm still alive!"

Carlo Ancelotti's men will take on Mexican side Pachuca in the final of the Intercontinental Cup in Qatar on Wednesday, December 18.
