Jamie Carragher has suggested that Mohamed Salah could become Liverpool's greatest ever player at the end of this season. The Egyptian King is enjoying a phenomenal season this time out even by his ridiculously high standards.

The 32-year-old has been shattering records for fun this term as Arne Slot's side have been dominating the Premier League. The Reds find themselves at the top of the Premier League table by some distance and lead the Champions League table as well.

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has claimed that Salah was already one of the top five players to have played for the club before this season. He has claimed that if the forward continues his form until the end of the season, he will get into his top three alongside Kenny Dalglish and Steven Gerrard.

The pundit said on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football, as quoted by Liverpool.com:

“A few weeks ago I said he is in the top five players to ever play for Liverpool. I think if he takes Liverpool to a title and ends up with the Premier League, PFA [Player of the Year Award], which if he wins it, will be the third time he has won it, which has never happened before. No-one has ever done that before."

Carragher added:

“If he does that, he’s not in the top five, it’s basically a fight between him, Kenny Dalglish and Steven Gerrard to see who is Liverpool’s greatest-ever player. If he can add that to what he’s already done at Liverpool, he leaves an Ian Rush or Graeme Souness behind and joins those two who most Liverpool fans debate and argue about as the greatest player to ever play for Liverpool.”

Mohamed Salah has scored 20 goals and provided 17 assists in 26 appearances across competitions this season. In the Premier League alone, he has 17 goals and 13 assists in 18 games, leading both scoring and assists charts.

The Egyptian has been consistently excellent for Liverpool since joining the club in a reported £34.3 million deal from AS Roma in 2017. He has scored 231 goals and provided 105 assists in 371 appearances for the Merseyside giants and has won eight trophies.

Liverpool have had some legendary footballers over the years with the likes of Ian Rush, Robbie Fowler, Graeme Souness and Jamie Carragher himself among others. However, Sir Kenny Dalglish and Steven Gerrard are regarded as two of the finest players to have graced the iconic club's jerseys.

Gerrard spent the entirety of his senior career at Liverpool, making 710 appearances for the club across 17 seasons. He won nine trophies for the Reds and almost single-handedly carried the club on his shoulders for years.

Dalglish, on the other hand, was the key player for the Merseyside giants in their golden era. He made 511 appearances for the Reds across 13 years and won 21 trophies while also managing the club in two different stints.

Liverpool preparing two contract offers for star heavily linked with an exit: Reports

Liverpool are reportedly preparing two contract offers for star defender Trent Alexander-Arnold. As claimed by Cadena Ser (via The Hard Tackle), the Reds are ready to offer their star full-back a lucrative deal to turn down Real Madrid.

The Merseyside giants face the prospect of losing their academy graduate for nothing in the summer with his contract expiring. Alexander-Arnold has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent months and the Spanish media have even claimed that a free transfer is on the cards this summer.

Liverpool will reportedly offer a four-and-a-half-year deal to the 26-year-old if Real Madrid make a move in January. If Los Blancos try to land him in the summer, the Reds will offer him a four-year deal.

Alexander-Arnold has come through Liverpool's youth ranks and has spent his entire career at his boyhood club. He has made 333 appearances for the club till date, scoring 20 times and providing 85 assists.
