An old interview with Ajax manager Erik ten Hag has resurfaced with the Dutch coach continuing to be linked with the Manchester United job.
Manchester United are set to appoint a new permanent manager in the summer and have reportedly made ten Hag one of the frontrunners for the role.
Metro reports that ten Hag has already made contact with United players in view of coming to Old Trafford.
Back in 2020 ten Hag spoke in an interview with Ajax's official YouTube channel about a meeting he had with United's legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
He said:
“Steve (Former (Manchester United & Ajax coach) and I visited Sir Alex Ferguson when we played Manchester City, the morning before the match we had coffee with him - it was a memorable conversation about football.”
He continued:
“When we visited, Sir Alex Ferguson was sitting in his office, he was the manager and he had an overview of the pitches at Carrignton and he could follow the training sessions from his office, it was a experience.”

The Dutch coach's stirring words of admiration for Sir Alex Ferguson will excite United fans who are majorly keen on the Ajax manager.
Having seen PSG falter in the Champions League under fellow favorite Mauricio Pochettino, doubts have been cast by some over the Argentinian's managerial expertise.
Ten Hag might be a risk for the 13-time Premier League champions, but it could be worth the gamble given his style of play is exciting.
Amongst his accomplishments lies his domination of the Dutch Eridivise. He has won all major trophies available in The Netherlands, including two Eredivisie league titles.

The Eredivisie side came close to making the UEFA Champions League final in 2018 only losing to Tottenham Hotspur in the semi-finals by a last minute decider.
His work with improving players is renowned, with Sebastian Haller's goalscoring exploits in the UCL, proving the point this season. The Ivory Coast forward has netted 31 goals in 32 games this season. He has superbly bedded in youth from Ajax's academy.
The likes of Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt, Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong and United's Donny van de Beek all came through the ranks under ten Hag.
Haller's transformation has shown his skillset in identifying players in the transfer market as well. The Ivory Coast player did not succeed at West Ham United but is now thriving at Ajax.
Dusan Tadic has been one of Europe's most talented players since moving from Southampton and Daley Blind has been reinvented into a top performing centre-back.
