Al-Nassr are interested in signing Cristiano Ronaldo's former teammate Casemiro in January, as per UOL. The Brazilian midfielder currently plies his trade at Manchester United, having joined them from Real Madrid in 2022 for a reported €70.65 million.

During his time at Real Madrid, Casemiro combined with Luka Modric and Toni Kroos to form one of the most lethal midfield trios of his generation. The Brazilian played 336 games for Los Blancos across competitions, scoring 31 goals and assisting 29 more. He was also an integral part of the Real Madrid side that won three consecutive UEFA Champions League titles, alongside Ronaldo.

Ronaldo and Casemiro share a good bond and have often raved about each other in public. They first met at Real Madrid and have also shared the pitch for Manchester United during Ronaldo's second stint at the club.

Together, the two have played 122 games as teammates, sharing seven joint goal participations. While Casemiro has assisted five goals scored by Ronaldo, the Portuguese superstar has returned the favor twice.

According to a report by UOL (h/t @UtdDistrict on X), the Saudi Investment Fund is keen on bringing Casemiro to Al-Nassr because of his friendship with Cristiano Ronaldo. As per the report, the Brazilian midfielder wants to leave the Red Devils as well.

Casemiro may benefit from joining Al-Nassr this winter because of the incessant struggles of his current club. Under newly appointed head coach Ruben Amorim, Manchester United have played ten games across competitions, losing half of them. They have won only four and the remaining one has been a stalemate.

Casemiro once waxed lyrical about the goalscoring abilities of his former Manchester United and Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo. The Brazilian highlighted that Ronaldo averaged 50 goals a season even at the age of 38 (he is now 39). He said (via @theMadridZone on X):

“What Cristiano Ronaldo did in football is not valued enough. He’s scoring 50 goals at 38 years old.”

Cristiano Ronaldo is widely considered one of the best players to have ever played the game. The Portuguese sensation is revered across the footballing fraternity for his unparalleled athleticism and penchant for scoring goals. Ronaldo is the leading goalscorer in men's football history with 916 goals and 256 assists in 1255 games across competitions.

Even at the age of 39, the Al-Nassr superstar isn't showing signs of slowing down. This season, he has scored 16 goals and created three more in 19 games across competitions.

It remains to be seen if Al-Nassr can secure the services of Casemiro in January and bolster their midfield.
