Former Chelsea and Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata’s former wife, Alice Campello opened up on her split with the Spanish attacker. Almost a month after Spain's victory at Euro 2024 in July, the La Roja captain took to Instagram and announced the separation.

The Real Madrid academy graduate and his former wife were together for eight years, which included being married for seven, and had four children together. Alice Campello, 29, a successful businesswoman and founder of beauty brand Masqmai, recently opened up about her relationship with the footballer in an interview with Forbes Women. The Italian model said (via Daily Mail):

"He has loved me very much and very well. He pushed me a lot in all my projects and made me see a good part of myself that perhaps I did not see. For me that is love."

While speaking to Forbes Women, Campello mentioned that even though she cherishes her family, starting one at a young age and going through pregnancies and postpartum took a toll on her. She said (via Daily Mail):

"I don't think I was prepared. The best thing in my life has been having them so close together and when I see them playing together I find it impressive. But I wasn't realising how much it has affected me on a mental level. My pregnancies and my postpartums have affected me a lot. Especially the last one, when I almost died. The next day I was trying to be with my children, showing everyone that I was fine. I should have lived through my grief."

Alice Campello was under specialist care at the University Hospital of Navarra in Madrid after suffering reported complications in the birth of her and Morata's fourth child in 2023.

Addressing several rumors that surfaced following their split, Alice Campello mentioned being in regular contact with the Spanish star and dismissed any allegations against her former husband. The 29-year-old said she did not go through distress but was prioritizing her well-being. She said:

"I talk to Alvaro every day. He hasn't left her for another woman, nothing like that has happened. Alvaro is respecting me. It's more that we weren't okay because of our things. And we have to be okay again, period. My goal now is not to get back, but to be okay. It's my family and it always will be."

Alice Campello founded Masqmai in December 2018 and her brand has turned over approximately £7.3million in 2024.

Former Chelsea and Real Madrid star Alvaro Morata opens up on split with his wife

Former Chelsea and Real Madrid star Alvaro Morata spoke about his split, admitting he was shattered by the breakup. He also spoke about how he had to leave his home country due to criticism that blamed him for the split.

The Real Madrid academy graduate told 'D Corazon' on La 1 (via AS):

"I am tired of people saying that I was unfaithful to Alice because I didn't even go to the national team party so that this type of rumour wouldn't arise. Since then I haven't spoken to anyone out of respect for her and so that this type of news doesn't arise. I am devastated. I have fled Spain because I cannot bear the pressure and criticism any longer."

Following Spain's victory at Euro 2024, Alvaro Morata signed for AC Milan on July 19, a four-year contract with the option for a further season if he registers at least 20 goal contributions in the 2024-25 campaign. The former Chelsea player has recorded four goals and two assists in 14 appearances for the Serie A side so far this season.
