Manchester United fans on X have blasted Diogo Dalot after he had a poor performance in their 3-0 Premier League loss against Tottenham Hotspur. The two sides locked horns at Old Trafford on Sunday, September 29.
Spurs got off to the perfect start when Micky van de Ven made an exceptional run across the pitch to assist Brennan Johnson in the third minute. The visitors continued to dominate, with Johnson hitting the post in the 20th minute.
Alejandro Garnacho's volley also hit the woodwork against the run of play minutes later. However, Manchester United's momentum came to a standstill in the 42nd minute. Skipper Bruno Fernandes was given a straight red card for a poor challenge on James Maddison.
Tottenham took full advantage of having an extra man on the field in the second half, with Dejan Kulusevski scoring in the 47th minute. Andre Onana made a good save to deny Timo Werner in a one-on-one situation. However, was unable to prevent Dominic Solanke from netting in the 77th minute - making it 3-0 in the process.
Dalot had a poor game at left-back and was extremely sloppy in possession, losing the ball 13 times. The 25-year-old created zero chances, lost one duel, and completed just one tackle in 90 minutes. He also failed to effectively mark Johnson throughout the game, which played a part in Spurs' opener.
One Manchester United fan posted:
"Dalot is my boy but he is having an all time disasterclass"
Another fan tweeted:
"Dalot having an absolute horror show too. Can’t believe we’ve just let another player run through the whole team, again, then have zero marking at the back post. Amateurs."
