Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez has been hailed for his performances for Uruguay at the ongoing Copa America tournament in the United States of America. The striker has been in phenomenal form for his country recently, scoring at least a goal in his last seven consecutive games.

Nunez had another fine display for his country in their 5-0 demolition of Bolivia on Thursday, June 27, scoring a goal and putting on a noteworthy performance. His performance on the pitch was so good that he was the talk of the newspapers in the South American nation.

La Diaria Deporte's glowing review of Nunez read:

“Always a scorer. He is famous because he put the ball it in the back of the net. He missed one chance, on the second he barely missed, the third was pin and green, to collect. Furthermore, if he doesn’t score them, he generates them, and if he doesn’t score them or generate them, he runs at all the defenders to not let them play in peace.”

El Observador also hailed the Liverpool striker, writing:

“Another player who performed tremendously. He scored in his seventh consecutive game and even missed some more situations. However, he always tried and always complicated things for the defenders.”

Darwin Nunez has endured a mixed spell at Liverpool and will be keen to transfer his national form to the club scene. He scored 18 goals and provided 13 assists in 54 games for the Reds last season, missing many big chances.

Nunez is currently the joint top goal scorer at Copa America with two goals from his two games played for Marcelo Bielsa's side. He next faces the hosts the USA on July 1 at Arrowhead Stadium in Missouri.
