After recently switching from Real Madrid to Al-Nassr, Kathellen Sousa met and showered praise on Cristiano Ronaldo. The Brazilian played as a centre-back in the Spanish capital, raking in 44 appearances before completing her move to Saudi Arabia.
Sousa previously featured for teams across Europe, including Inter Milan and Bourdoux, since coming across the Atlantic from American outfit UCF Knights. She has represented her country 31 times, scoring once for the South American giants.
Following her transfer to Al-Nassr, she took to Instagram to gush over meeting football legend Cristiano Ronaldo, as she wrote:
"I cried knowing the man. Cristiano is the definition of what it is to be an athlete, an example for all of us. I have great admiration for him! Thanks for the attention and care. (He even gave me a tissue to wipe tears lol)."
Ronaldo has been a fabulous signing for the Arabian side and a legitimizing factor for Asian football since his arrival in 2022. The icon has inspired several talented footballers to move to the Near East. The Real Madrid legend has also continued to find the back of the net regularly, bagging 58 goals and 15 assists in 64 games for Al-Nassr over two seasons.
Al-Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo's Real Madrid legacy
Al-Nassr superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has an unmatched legacy in the world of football and is a legend at one of the greatest football clubs — Real Madrid. His exploits at the Spanish club cemented his legacy as one of the best at Los Blancos.
Ronaldo joined the Madrid-based giants from Manchester United in 2009 for a world-record fee and quickly established himself as the leading man at the club. His €94 million fee looked like a bargain when he departed the club nine years later at 32 years old.
The Portuguese legend scored a mind-boggling 450 goals and provided 131 assists in 438 games to establish himself as the club's all-time leading goalscorer. His contributions helped the club claim four UEFA Champions League crowns, two La Ligas, three FIFA Club World Cups, three UEFA Super Cups, and two Copa Del Reys. He also claimed four Ballon d'Or awards for his efforts at Real Madrid.
Cristiano Ronaldo would eventually leave the club in 2018 and join Juventus. He now plays for Saudi Pro-league side Al-Nassr. He hopes to lead them to domestic and continental glory in the twilight of his legendary career.
