Al-Nassr have announced their lineup for their upcoming fixture against Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League and fans are expecting a "masterclass" from Cristiano Ronaldo, who has been named in the XI. The Knights of Najd are about to play their final top-flight match of the season and will be looking to wrap it up on a winning note.
They once again came up short in their league title ambitions, as Al-Hilal won it comfortably following a stupendous run.
However, that doesn't mean Luís Castro's side flattered to deceive. The Riyadh-based outfit have dropped points in only eight of their 33 matches this season (losing and drawing four times each).
Ronaldo, too, has been in great form, netting 42 times in all competitions, including 33 in the top-flight. Following a stop-start first six months at the club, the Portuguese ace has settled in at the club and recaptured his mojo.
After seeing him in the starting XI for their final game of the season, fans are expecting a goalfest from him.
Ronaldo's supporters took to X, formerly Twitter, to share their expectations from today's game:
"Ronaldo hattrick incoming," a fan said.
"Good luck! I wish the play making support @Cristiano to score more goals," another added.
"Another Cristiano masterclass, who says no ?" another said.
"Last match of the season. Hopefully a masterclass loading…" a fan said.
"He will beat the most Goals in One season record in Spl!" another said.
"The Goat of the Game," added another.
Cristiano Ronaldo could break the Saudi Pro League scoring record against Al-Ittihad
Currently on 42 goals in all competitions, Ronaldo has bagged 33 of them in the top-flight from 30 games, along with 11 assists, at least six more than any player right now. That puts him in the driving seat for the domestic Golden Boot, his first in the country.
If he's able to net two more goals tonight, Ronaldo will break the all time scoring record for the Saudi top flight. The record is currently held by Moroccan striker Abderrazak Hamdallah, who scored 34 goals in the 2018-19 season.
It will be interesting to see how the Portuguese ace fares against Al-Ittihad.
