Lionel Messi's wife Antonela Roccuzzo shared a picture of her family after Argentina's Copa America win against Columbia on Sunday (July 14). The picture showed her alongside her husband, the trophy and their three sons, Matteo, Thiago and Cirro.
The Rosario-born model and philanthropist started dating the legendary forward in 2009 before they tied the knot in 2017. She is often spotted at matches supporting her husband and was at the MetLife stadium to witness him retain the Copa America crown with Argentina.
Taking to Instagram after La Albiceleste defeated Columbia, Antonela posted the picture with the caption:
"Champions of America, let's go Argentina!!!"
The South American nation previously beat Brazil 1-0 in the final to win the Copa America in 2021.
Argentina retain Copa America title despite Lionel Messi injury
Argentina retained their Copa America crown at the MetLife Stadium despite Lionel Messi suffering an injury in the game. The 37-year-old forward was struck with an injury in the 66th minute but his compatriots had the composure to secure a 1-0 win in extra time in his absence.
Colombia put up a valiant challenge in the final but lost following a 112nd-minute strike from Lautaro Martinez.
The victory sees Lionel Messi win the tournament for the second time in his career. Despite not being at his mercurial best, bagging only a goal and assist in the six games, he provided his teammates a suitable figure to rally around, on and off the pitch.
Argentina was a fantastic unit in the tournament, with Lautaro Martinez claiming the Golden Boot with five goals. Emi Martinez was also rewarded with the Golden Glove for his performances between the sticks after keeping five clean sheets in six games.
The Aston Villa shot-stopper has now won the Golden Glove in three consecutive international tournaments.
