Manchester United forward Amad Diallo has shared a message to the fans, following a year that has seen the club fail to meet expectations. The Red Devils sit in 14th place in the Premier League table, seven points ahead of Ipswich Town, who are in the relegation zone.
Another bad result for United, with other results going against them, could see the Red Devils struggling for relegation in the first half of 2025. It has been a topsy-turvy year for Manchester United. They notably won the FA Cup, beating firm favorites Manchester City in the final at Wembley on May 25.
Amad Diallo was one of the better players of the year at Old Trafford, as he broke into the starting lineup with his impressive performances. This season, he has played 17 Premier League games, scoring two important goals and providing six assists. With 2024 at its end, the 22-year-old winger posted a message to the fans on social media:
“A very difficult year, apologizing is not enough…but you have supported us and continued to do so throughout all this time…thank you.”
Despite winning the FA Cup, they finished in eighth place last season, which almost cost manager Erik ten Hag his job at the Old Trafford dugout. Poor performances at the start of the season eventually culminated in the Dutch tactician's sack on October 28.
Manchester United signed Ruben Amorim, but the Portuguese head coach has done little to improve their fortunes on the pitch. He has led them to just four wins in 11 games in charge, which will cause concern within the Old Trafford hierarchy.
Ruben Amorim reveals Manchester United transfer situation for January
Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has admitted that the club's hopes for a positive transfer window in January look bleak. The Red Devils have struggled to adapt to his tactics, which require wing-backs.
This has led to questions about who they could sign in the coming transfer window, as they look to improve results. However, according to Ruben Amorim, incoming transfers are not on the cards. He said (via GOAL):
"We don't have that possibility in January. You know the situation better than I [do]. It's not the case I am not arriving here and I can spend a lot of money, changing all the team. You know the situation so it's not a point to talk about it."
Next, Manchester United will travel to Anfield for their Premier League clash against Liverpool on January 5.
