Premier League giants Chelsea and Arsenal are set to engage in a battle to sign Juventus marksman Dusan Vlahovic. The 24-year-old Serbian joined La Vecchia Signora in the summer of 2022 from Florentina for a reported €83.50 million transfer fee.
Vlahovic has been one of the mainstays in the Juventus frontline since joining the Serie A giants. The Serbian has terrorized opposition defenses with his strong sense of positioning, acceleration, and inch-perfect finishing. Across competitions, Dusan Vlahovic has played 122 games for Juventus, registering 53 goals and 11 assists.
As per Fichajes.net, the Turin striker is one of the prime targets for both Chelsea and Arsenal who are looking to strengthen their respective attacks in 2025. At present, Arsenal are undergoing redevelopment under Mikel Arteta and the club seemingly need a top-notch striker to move forward.
Chelsea, meanwhile, are also undergoing a squad overhaul under newly signed Enzo Maresca. The addition of a quality striker like Vlahovic will bolster the frontline of both sides.
Dusan Vlahovic's current contract with Juventus earns him € 427,308 a week and is set to expire in the summer of 2026. It remains to be seen if either Chelsea or Arsenal match the wage demands and come up with a concrete offer in the upcoming transfer window.
Jamie Carragher names his favorites to win the Premier League between Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal
Football pundit Jamie Carragher has recently given his prediction for the Premier League title. The former Liverpool defender has chosen the Merseyside club as favorites to win the Premier League this season.
At present, Liverpool are the runaway table-toppers in the Premier League with 42 points in 17 games. Following them are Mikel Arteta's Arsenal with 36 in 18 games. Meanwhile, Enzo Maresca's side are third with 35 points in 18 games.
In a recent column Carragher wrote for The Telegraph, he talked about the Premier League title race. The football pundit opined:
"It is between Liverpool and Arsenal. Enzo Maresca has done an excellent job at Chelsea this season. I was not sure when the club opted not to keep Mauricio Pochettino last summer, but they appointed a coach with a specific profile and Maresca has brought the squad together."
Talking about the Gunners and the west Londoners, he said:
"Having said that, I agree with him that Chelsea are not quite ready to become champions. They will need another goalkeeper and centre-half before they can go the distance."
"Arsenal's biggest problem right now is their injuries. They managed to avoid too much disruption in the last two years but their squad has been stretched this time,."
He concluded by saying:
"But I am speaking with my head and heart when saying Liverpool will pip them to first place. Arne Slot's attacking options are the strongest in the Premier League. My only worry for Liverpool is if they pick up injuries to their big players. If they can avoid them, they will be difficult to catch. Chelsea will finish third and despite their issues I see Man City finishing in the last Champions League spot."
Despite winning the last four Premier League titles, Pep Guardiola's Manchester City are currently groveling at number seven on the table with just 28 points in 18 games.
