Arsenal legend David Seaman has provided a positive fitness update on Bukayo Saka ahead of their Premier League clash against Liverpool on October 27 at Emirates Stadium. The 23-year-old right winger picked up a hamstring injury during England's UEFA Nations League match against Greece on October 10.

After sustaining the injury during the international break, Bukayo Saka returned early to Arsenal for further treatment. He has missed two matches for the Gunners so far against Bournemouth and Shakhtar Donetsk. Arsenal head coach manager Mikel Arteta wasn't sure of Saka's return in the upcoming clash against Liverpool after their recent UEFA Champions League win against Shakhtar.

However, David Seaman seemed hopeful about Bukayo Saka featuring in the match against Liverpool. It comes after the former's visit to Arsenal's London Colney training ground to help coach their young goalkeepers. On his Seaman Says podcast, sponsored by Betway, the former English shot-stopper said (via The Mirror):

"I'm a little bit nervy, if I'm honest, because we're not going to be at our strongest, depending on Saka. Although when I was in last Thursday at Arsenal, coaching with the young goalies, I saw Bukayo with his boots on and I was like, 'ah, good sign'. Not trainers or anything like that. He was going off to do some one-to-one rehab, so that was a good sign."

Bukayo Saka started his senior career with the Gunners in 2018. He has netted three goals and provided seven assists in 10 appearances across competitions for the club this season.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta on his squad ahead of PL clash against Liverpool

Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta shared his thoughts ahead of their upcoming Premier League clash against Liverpool. Following the international break, the Gunners faced a 2-0 defeat against A.F.C. Bournemouth away in the league. They then secured a 1-0 win from an own goal against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League.

Mikel Arteta addressed the drop in the form of his squad in the match against Shakhtar Donetsk. He said that he expected so to happen after the international break. The Spanish manager said (via The Mirror):

"Well we played two and half days ago, after internationals, after flying from Brazil and many countries. I was expecting that we could drop off a little bit. And the fact we put so much in the first half and didn't convert and get the distance in terms of the result and the scoreline that far.
"I think we paid a little bit of that and then we made life more difficult for us because obviously we started to give the ball away and not regain the ball in the right areas and it was more open so that didn't help."

However, Arteta expressed confidence in his squad for the upcoming Premier League fixture and added:

"But we have four days and believe me on Sunday we will be flying. We'll review what we have to do, we have a day off and then two days to prepare the game and Sunday is far and we are more than comfortable that we'll be in a great place."

Arsenal are currently third in the Premier League table with 17 points in eight matches while Liverpool stand on top with 21 points. Both teams last faced each other on August 1 during a friendly, where the Reds bagged a 2-1 win.
