Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Yves Bissouma has picked Manchester City over Arsenal and Liverpool as favourites to win the Premier League title this season.
The Cityzens took control of the table after both Liverpool and Arsenal suffered defeats at the hands of Crystal Palace and Aston Villa, respectively.
Moreover, no English team will be a part of the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League this year as both Arsenal and Manchester City bowed out of the tournament. The Reds, too, were eliminated from the Europa League after suffering defeat at the hands of Atalanta.
As for Spurs, who currently sit in the fifth spot, will play an instrumental role in deciding who wins the PL title as they'll face all three title contenders before the season concludes.
When asked to share his two cents on the title race, here's what Bissouma said (via Sky Sports):
"City, that’s what I think. They’ve got experience, they know how in the last games. So my prediction is them."
Ange Postecoglou’s men will face Arsenal when they return to Premier League action on April 28.
Arsenal occupy the 1st position on the PL table while Manchester City are a close third
The Gunners defeated Wolves on the weekend to return to the top of the Premier League table with 74 points. Liverpool, despite conceding a goal, were able to get past Fulham and currently hold the second position. The Reds have 74 points too but are behind the Gunners on goal difference after 33 games.
However, both teams have played a game extra. Should Pep Guardiola's men win their remaining games (six) of the season, they'll be crowned champions for the fourth consecutive time.
It is important to note that both the Reds and the Gunners have been serious title contenders before, but failed to get across the line. The Cityzens have more experience and look like a completely different side in the last few games of the season. Fans witnessed something similar last season as well.
Despite Arsenal leading the standings for a record 248 days last season, Manchester City ultimately bagged the title.
Mikel Arteta's men have been ruthless throughout the season, with a few defeats coming here and there. They'll be hoping that City lose a game or two, to maintain that top spot.
City return to Premier League action when they take on Brighton on April 25.
