Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has named Chelsea legend John Terry as his favorite footballer of all time. The midfielder has previously admitted that he was a fan of the Stamford Bridge side growing up.
Speaking to Amazon Prime Sport's TikTok account, Rice stated that Terry is his favorite footballer of all time. Terry represented Chelsea for 17 years, winning five Premier League titles, five FA Cups, and one Champions League with the Blues.
The Arsenal star also spoke about the Chelsea legend to Gary Neville in 2022 and said (via TalkSport):
"I speak to him a lot, I speak to him all the time really. For me growing up being a Chelsea fan having a season ticket there, going to all the big games just being in the academy, just him, looking at him. Everything was JT. The kit JT26 on the back, even when I was young I said if I make it I want to be number 26. But I feel like as I've got older now I've grown out of that, because it would look a little bit creepy, getting the 26 on the back because of JT, but 100 per cent JT."
Declan Rice was at Chelsea while Terry was captaining the senior side at Stamford Bridge. However, the midfielder was released by the Blues and moved to West Ham United before joining Arsenal last summer.
Arsenal star Declan Rice supported Chelsea while growing up
Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has previously stated that he supported Chelsea while he was growing up. The midfielder added that most of his family members are fans of the Blues, while a few support West Ham United.
Rice told Gary Neville in 2022:
"Yeah growing up the whole family was Chelsea. I feel like it's out there, everyone knows, it's well documented but I feel like when you play for a club like West Ham you become really affiliated to it and this is part of me now and my family as well, [who are] massive West Ham fans as well."
Chelsea were reportedly interested in signing Rice last summer, but opted to focus on Moises Caicedo instead.
