Arsenal target Riccardo Calafiori's girlfriend Benedetta Boeme has publicly denied any rumors about a breakup with the defender. She has also threatened legal action against a TikTok account pretending to be her.
The account recently said the couple had broken up and confirmed that the Bologna defender had moved to the Emirates Stadium. The account with the username 'bboeme_' has Boeme's picture, which has led many to believe it was owned by Calafiori's girlfriend. The post from the account read (via Mercato Tribune):
“Many of you have been asking what’s been going on in my life lately, so I decided to finally share it with you. Riccardo and I are no longer together at the moment. I don’t know if we will get through, but I doubt it. I needed some time to process everything that happened over the past 3-4 days. I still need time..."
The account added that the 22-year-old was on his way to Arsenal:
"I wish him all the best as he joins Arsenal. He has all my support."
Boeme took to a now-disappeared Instagram story to refute the claims, writing (via Mercato Tribune):
“I am forced to write here that I have no TikTok profile!! Someone is pretending to be me and writing things that are not true! This is my only social media account. I have never talked about anything and I never will."
She also threatened legal action, adding:
“I kindly ask whoever opened the TikTok profile pretending to be me and writing personal and delicate things, which then get reported as articles in the media, to immediately close the profile, otherwise I will take legal action.”
If he does join Arsenal, Riccardo Calafiori will be hoping to start his career in England without any off-pitch issues or concerns.
Arsenal are now finalizing the deal to sign Riccardo Calafiori
According to a report from Sky Sports, Arsenal are in the final process of signing Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna. However, the Gunners will be wary, especially as other European heavyweights like Real Madrid have made moves for the Italian.
However, the 22-year-old has already been impressed by the ongoing sporting project under Mikel Arteta at the Emirates Stadium. He has reportedly informed the Gunners that he will not be moving to any other club.
The fee to pay is reportedly £42.1 million, inclusive of any clauses. The discussions are now focused on the best payment structure for both clubs, although an agreement around the player's move is almost final.
Riccardo Calafiori joined Bologna from Basel for £4 million a year ago, but he impressed across 33 appearances for the Italian side last season, scoring two goals and providing five assists.
