Mikel Arteta's Arsenal and Ange Postecoglou's Tottenham Hotspur have entered the race to sign Shakhtar Donetsk star Georgiy Sudakov, as per Football Insider's Pete O'Rourke.
Sudakov is an academy product of Shakhtar Donetsk, and he has made 111 appearances for the senior team across all competitions, bagging 27 goals and 20 assists. He mostly plays as an attacking midfielder but can operate in a variety of positions.
This season, Sudakov has scored seven goals and provided two assists in 10 appearances across all competitions. Additionally, the 22-year-old is also being dubbed the next Mykhailo Mudryk, who joined Chelsea from Shakhtar in January 2023 for a reported fee of £88.5 million.
As a result of his recent performances, Sudakov has drawn the attention of several European clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal. His current deal with the Ukrainian side will expire in the summer of 2028, meaning a significant offer would likely have to be made to sign the 22-year-old.
Pep Guardiola's Manchester City are also reportedly keeping an eye on Georgiy Sudakov as Kevin de Bruyne's potential replacement.
Arsenal's Martin Odegaard faces setback in ankle injury recovery: Reports
Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard has reportedly suffered a setback in his recovery from an ankle injury, as per Gunners insider Con Harrison. Odegaard suffered the injury during the September international break.
Last week, the 25-year-old said about his recovery process (via the club's official website):
"I just reached to start with the latest on my injury and rehab. In the last week or so I've made really good progress. I'm getting better and better by the day and feel it's going well. When you feel like things are moving forward, it gives to motivation to do more and more, and work hard."
However, the latest setback means that Odegaard is only likely to return to action in December. Mikel Merino will likely step into the Norwegian's position for the time being after fully recovering from his shoulder injury.
Despite the absence of their captain, the Gunners have performed at a high level and are currently third in the Premier League with 17 points from seven matches.
