Former Barcelona star Cesc Fabregas has explained how having great players has helped Real Madrid dominate European club football. The Spaniard also emphasized on how the team manage their emotions at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Los Blancos romped to their 15th title in the Champions League in May this year after defeating Borussia Dortmund 2-0 in the Wembley finals. It was their sixth trophy of the last 11 years in the competition, as the La Liga giants have dominated Europe in a way no side has managed in modern history.

Fabregas, a midfield legend who made a few appearances in the Champions League without ever winning it, shared his thoughts on Real Madrid's dominance.

He explained the crucial role of the club fans, saying:

“Why Real Madrid are dominating in Europe? I recently commented on the calmness and the way the team and the fans manage their emotions at the Bernabéu.
"The fans have become used to knowing how to suffer at critical moments because they understand that at some point something special can happen. But that is not the only thing that makes them win, far from it."

He added that the Whites also had some great players in their squad who helped them to European success.

"Real Madrid is a club that is expected to win or do very well in the Champions League. In addition, they have and have had some great players.”

Real Madrid return to action in the Champions League in September when the 2024-25 season kicks-off.

Real Madrid aiming for another European title in UEFA Super Cup

As a result of winning the Champions League, Real Madrid gained passage into the UEFA Super Cup, where they face Europa League winners Atalanta on 14 August 2024.

It's a chance to bag yet another European silverware, and start the 2024-25 season with a banger. Los Blancos are no strangers to this one-off game, having participated eight times before and won on five occasions.

La Dea, however, are making their debut here. Having caused an upset in the Europa League finals with the defeat of the then-unbeaten Bayer Leverkusen, the Serie A giants will be hoping for another scalp in Warsaw.
